Bohemian Paradise

The name Bohemian Paradise is not a topographic title, but an expression used in the 19th century by personalities of Czech cultural life, who fell in love with this area during their stays in the Sedmihorky Spa. This name eventually became an official title for the area stretching between Jičín, Mnichovo Hradiště, Turnov and Malá Skála, which reaches into territories of the Hradec Králové, Liberec and Central Bohemia Regions.

Podzvičinsko (Podkrkonoší)

The Podzvičinsko (The Podkrkonoší) tourist resort lays between the Krkonoše Mountains in the north, Český ráj (Bohemian Paradise) in the west and the lowlands of the Hradecko tourist resort in the south. On this hilly territory, which is quite small, and which is dominated by the Zvičina Hill, one can learn about natural interest together with historical or technical monuments without extensive travelling. There is also one of the largest and most beautiful zoological gardens in Europe and a wide range of sports on offer.

Giant Mountains (Krkonoše)

The Giant Mountains (Krkonoše) are the highest mountains of the Czech Republic. The chain of mountains with many varieties and a sharp silhouette of the highest peak of Sněžka and the spring of the European main river Elb constitute a natural border between the Czech basin and Poland. The fairy protector, ruler and symbol of the Giant Mountains is Krakonoš. The eastern part of the mountains is located in the Region of Hradec Králové, the western part in the Region of Liberec.

Kladsko Frontier (Borderlands)

The Kladsko Frontier, in the north-eastern part of the Hradec Králové Region, has the power to satisfy even demanding visitors with a rich offer of natural beauties, historical monuments and cultural parades.

In the north-eastern part of the Kladsko Frontier is the Broumov basin, which connects unique rocky towns and natural sceneries with the heritage of Baroque architecture. In 1991, the Broumov region was declared a protected landscape area. The National Nature Monument called Babiččino údolí ("Grandmother’s Valley") has a different character. This flood-plain valley of the River Úpa near Česká Skalice.

Hradecko

The landscape of Hradecko combines in itself an ideal environment for a family holiday and relaxation, active leisure and cyclotourism. Those who are interested in the natural values of the Hradecko tourist resort can find a large woodland complex in the south-eastern part of the territory, which begins at the town of Hradec Králové and ends near Choceň. Hikers can rest at resting places built by the main forest roads. There are plenty of hiking and cycle routes there. The Orlice River is a natural phenomenon that is significant within the entire territory of the Czech Republic. The unique feature of its lower stream is its natural shape with almost no regulating adaptations. This naturally meandering river with frequent blind channels hides the beauties of ancient pools and mystical creeks of marshes and flooded forests. The town is also known for its greenery, thanks to large landscaped municipal parks. In some of them one can even see protected momentous trees.

Orlické Mountains and Podorlicko

There is a region which extends in the north-east part of Bohemia close to the Polish border that offers an inexhaustible number of tourist attractions: aristocratic residences in wide parks, as well as country architecture, fortresses, outlook towers, Jewish monuments, museums and galleries, all set in the picturesque nature of Orlické Mountains and their foothills.
