Anywhere in Hradecko Region you are very close to various nature beauties. Literally behind the gates of Hradec Králové there are large forests stretching forty kilometers southeast, full of hiking and cycling trails. On hot days you can cool down in one of the many sandy lakes that surround Hradec Králové from virtually all sides. They are also a popular place for summer holidays.
The river Orlice is an important natural interest far beyond a regional significance. A naturally meandering river with numerous blind branches hides the beauty of old ponds, wetlands and floodplain forests. It flows into the river Elbe in Hradec Králové. The town is also known as a town of greenness, thanks to its extensive well-tended town parks. In some of them protected memorable trees can be found.
Hradec Králové is a dowry town of Queen Elizabeth. It is called the salon of the republic with architectural gems behind which some of the works of the most important Czech architects Jan Kotěra and Josef Gočár are hidden. You can admire the beauties of Hradec Králové on the boat ride on the river Elbe, when walking through the streets and green parks, or from the bird's eye view of the White Tower, dominant landmark of the town.
