Rambles in the Orlické Mountains

Unmarked route, 13 km

Beautiful gorges and ridges of the Orlické Mountains and its foothills invite you to experience it in the horse saddle. The terrain for horseriding is perfect there but trails are not marked so it is advisable to contact one of the local "horsemen".

It is necessary to divide the horseriding offer according to the rider´s experience. For the beginner riders 3-day-horseriding is suitable where they combine the riding and hiking trips in Podorlicko Lowlands.

For more advanced riders the routes around the castle ruins Potštejn, Litice, Žampach, and Lanšperk are arranged. The next day you can follow the footsteps of the military history to the fortress Hanička or Bouda. The unique views from the ridges of the mountains offer the tours around the mountain villages such as – the Orlické Záhoří / 1 /, Jablonné nad Orlicí, Klášterec nad Orlicí and farms and rural estates in villages below mountains. The horses are the best guides to the beauty of the countryside and will show you the wonderful relationship between the animal and the human being.

From Třebechovice pod Orebem to Potštejn

Route planned, unmarked, 13 km

You can start the trail yet before Třebechovice pod Orebem at the border of Hradec Králové woods in Bělečko / 4 /. Close to Bělečko ranch there is a blue trail round Hradec Králové in the direction of Běleč nad Orlicí and Nepasice. It is possible to have some refreshments at the nearby Ranch "B" in Blešno / 5 / from where you head to Třebechovice pod Orebem. From Třebechovice pod Orebem head for Bědovice / 6 /. The tourist trail leads through the woods along the Bědovice reserves to Týniště nad Orlicí. From there it is just a short walk to Častolovice, where you can admire the castle and its beautiful park. You get to the river Divoká Orlice through the Častolovice castle park and at the bank join the yellow trail leading to Doudleby nad Orlicí which takes you to the meanders of the river Orlice. Keep going along the river and you will get to Potštejn and to your final point – campground Vochtánka /3/.
