Hradec Králové Tour

Your excursion can begin not far from the extensive area of the 1866 battlefield in Dolní Přím /1/. From here you head towards Střezetice through Lípa to Neděliště. It is possible to turn from any place on the route, to join the nature trail along the battlefield and look round the many monuments. You cross the frequented road E67 at a suitable place, from where through Předměřice, Lochenice and Skalička /2/ you head towards Rusek /3/ until Piletice. Here you can stop at Šrámkův statek (Šrámek‘s farm) - center of folk tradition. Then you go through Slatina to Nepasice. Here you can decide to continue towards Bědovice /4/ and then through Třebechovice until Potštejn, the blue route however turns across the Orlice River to Běleč nad Orlicí /5/. Here you can taste good beer from the local brewery; you can also watch the white fallow deer in the game preserve. From here the route leads through beautiful countryside of a municipal forest to the newly reconstructed Mazurovy chalupy (Mazurovy cottages). The extensive forest invites you to take further excursions on foot, you however follow along the blue route through Hoděšovice to Koliba and then through the forest to Vysoké nad Labem. Soon you will cross an iron bridge and head towards Opatovice nad Labem, where in the best possible place you will cross the frequented road 37 leading to Pardubice. From Opatovice along the railway track you reach Čeperka. Along Opatovický kanál (Opatovice canal) you reach Podůlšany and Staré Ždánice. Here you join the main route which is marked in red and leads along with the blue route to Roudnice. Now is in front of you the concluding part of the circuit, which leads you through Radostov until the charming chateau of Hrádek u Nechanic /6/.

Forests of Hradec Králové otherwise

On the eastern edge of Hradec Králové there are spread wonderful municipal forests with many places of interest. The whole area of the forests is interwoven with footpaths and cycle tracks, which can be used also for horse rides. As a starting point we establish Hradecký jezdecký klub (Hradec Králové riding club) /7/, where there are also two small footpath circuits close by. The main communication is an asphalt road called Hradečnice, in the last third of this road we recommend turning right to the frequented tourist location of Mazurovy chalupy (Mazurovy cottages). This area is an ideal destination for your tail, here it is possible to refresh and rest yourself and your horse. And who knows, maybe you will bump into farmer Mazur or see some of the rare animal life. Forests of Hradec Králové also offer many other interesting locations, for example Bělečský mlýn (Běleč mill), Marokánka sand pit, Bažantnice or Císařská studánka (Cesar fountain). From where you are only a short distance to Biřička, Cikán and Datlík ponds. The nature trail in Orlice Nature Park leads you to Krňovice and the tourist attraction of the Orlice outdoor museum.

Wandering around Krakonoš

The Hradecko district transects one of the most important bridleways in the Hradec Králové Region - Krkonošská (Krkonoše bridleways), which is linked to the nationwide network of routes. It begins in the Pardubice region and leads from Staré Ždánice through Roudnice along the chateau Hrádek u Nechanic to Kunčice /6/. Around Nechanice you will head through Tůně to Sadová, where you will see the 1866 war memorial. The Hradecko district leaves the trail in Hněvčeves, continue however to the north to Úhlejov towards Bílá Třemešná around the breathtaking Les Království dam to Vítězná and then on to Krkonoše Mountains up to the border with Poland. The whole route is also accessible by horse and cart.
