DĚTENICE BEER - „The Beer of Our Ancestors”
The first mention of beer being brewed in Dětenice dates to the year 1307. For many centuries, the Dětenice beer has been a gem among the Czech beers. It is made according to an ancient recipe following the original procedure (brewing in open fire) and from traditional ingredients. The miraculous and ancient recipe is linked to the legend of the marauding knight Arthur, who had a beer with beneficial effects brewed, called a “beer of love”. Today tourists can visit an original brewery museum and admire beautiful historical cellars which house a medieval inn offering beer made in the way our ancestors used to drink.
FABIO PRODUKT LTD. - OILS
Fabio Product Company, Ltd. have manufactured and supplied a wide range of vegetable and frying oils under the brand name Manka for more than 15 years. It is the producer of rapeseed, vegetable, sunflower, frying, olive, palm and coconut oils; and other exotic species. Flavoured oils produced by cold-pressed rapeseed oil blended with spices and fresh herbs in six flavour variants supplement a wide range of oils. The oils are filled by hand and just a few drops can give a new, unconventional taste.
NOVÁ PAKA BEER - “Only Beer Can Make Thirst Beautiful”
The beer brewing tradition dates back to the first half of the 13th century, not long after the town was founded. The cornerstone of the brewery was set in 1871 and beer has been brewed here ever since. The exhibition includes the remodelled Neo-Gothic brewery and a lecture on the traditional method of beer brewing. At present the brewery makes several kinds of beer: light, dark, but also cherry beer among others. Tasting for instance “Brouček”, a refreshing lager, or the “Podkrkonoší Special”, a stronger beer of lovely colour and unmistakable bitterness is a unique experience.
ČEŠOV BRANDY
Apart from plum brandy a distillery in Češov offers also a sale of brandy made from various types of fruit - cherries, sour cherries, pears, grapes, and currants. The products are famed for their excellent quality ensured by most modern production technology.
THE CAR YEAST BEER - “In Wine There is Truth, in Beer the Strength to Bear It.”
If you stop in Běleč, you can have a taste of the CAR (TSAR) 12% beer (light unfiltered lager) or CAREVNA (TSARITSA) 13% (dark unfiltered lager) - a beer that women may like better. The brewery’s specialty is the VČELKA beer (light unfiltered lager with a honey flavour). Founded in 1993, the mini brewery was literally hand-forged and hammered out of raw stainless sheet metal. The brewing room was located outside of the pub’s central hall. The beer was given its name after the owner’s greatgrandfather, who was called TSAR in the village.
HONEY AND OTHER BEERS FROM THE PARTY BREWERY
The brewery of nearly 16 m2 brews several kinds of beer. For instance the Hradecké White Beer, Eliška’s Royal Beer, a special called Badebier-Rambousek (dark beer for baths), and from time to time the brewery shows off with an extra special beer, for example the “CHILLI BEER ARIZONA” featuring real chilli pepper. This small brewery was the first one in the Czech Republic to produce a broad range (8 kinds) of honey beer.
BLUE CHEESE OF THE “NIVA” TYPE
The cheese making tradition in the village of Dolní Přím dates back to 1879, the year Count Jan of Harrach purchased the local brewery from 1626, remodelling it in 1880 into a cheese factory. The enterprise made a typical Harrach cream cheese resembling Romadur, which became popular around the entire region. The cheese matured in the brewery cellars, which were cooled with natural ice acquired from the nearby ponds. It is suitable as a wonderful complement of wine or for cooking in compliance with recipes of several hundred years tradition.
CHOCOLATE BONBONS OF THE PASTRY CHEF
Below the Bílá věž (Tower) behind the ruins of robust town walls there is an artistic U Rudolfa Pastry Shop. Every evening a pot with the finest real chocolate bubbles here under the cover of night. With the help of his loyal assistants and while using the most refined alchemy imported from the whole world, the Chef makes one bonbon after another.
ČESNEKOVÝ SALÁM A HUSPENINA Z MARKOUŠOVIC (Garlic sausage and brawn from Markoušovice)
Markoušovice’s garlic sausage, brawn and other products are definitely worth tasting. No meat substitutes are used in the production and natural preservatives are preferred.
HORALSKÉ TRUBIČKY (rolls)
Along with the traditional filled rolls, called “horalské trubičky”, you can enjoy a host of other confectionery products and condiments manufactured in Teplice nad Metují.
KAZDŮV LOVECKÝ MAXI SALÁM (Kazda’s Lovecký MAXI sausage)
The branded fermented Kazda’s Lovecký Maxi sausage has a unique composition. The added probiotic culture, which is key to the fermentation of the sausage, has favourable effects on the intestinal microflora, boosting the consumer’s health and vitality.
GOAT CHEESE AND YOGURTS FROM ŽERNOV
You will be tempted to take a bite of the fine matured cheese “Žernovský bochník”. Other delicatessen from Žernov include fresh goat cheese – creamy and warmed (also with herbs) – fresh curd cheese and white yoghurt. You can also buy goat milk in Žernov (please bring your own bottle or container).
OLIVĚTÍN BEER OPAT – “The original monastery beer”
The beer in the Broumov brewery is made using high-quality home ingredients, the brewery’s own water drawn from a deep artesian well and premium brewer’s yeast. It has a fine, mild sweet taste, a pleasant smell of hops and bitter flavour. Established back in 1348, the brewery now produces pale, half-dark and dark lagers, as well as special beers such as Pepper Kvasničák (“Pepper Yeast Beer”) or Medový Kvasničák (“Honey Yeast Beer”) containing live yeast. Visitors can take part in a commented tour of the brewery with tasting as well as visiting the permanent exposition of the brewery museum.
PRIMÁTOR BEER – “Special beer specialist”
The beer is brewed using traditional technology tested over centuries, which is characteristic for Czech beer. Established back in 1872, the brewery called the “Special beer specialist” is now famous for the manufacture of a wide portfolio of special beers. The production line includes pale lagers, dark lagers and special dark and half-dark beers, fermented wheat beer, as well as a beer with low sugar content and non-alcoholic mildly fermented beer. For organized groups, the brewery offers commented tours of the brewery with tasting.
LIMONÁDA PRIMÁTOR (Primátor soda)
Sodas in six flavours are made of high-quality water drawn from the state-protected nature reserve Adršpašsko-teplické skály Rocks in the Broumovsko protected landscape area.
BREAD FROM POLICE
The bread from the town of Police has its characteristic taste of well matured rye leaven and of distinctive aroma. The bread is handmade. It is baked in a traditional steam oven. The bread is of golden brown color with a crispy crust, a lower crust is well floured.

You can taste high-quality home-made cheese, curd cheese and milk on a farm located in the beautiful area of the Adršpašsko-teplické rocks. You can take a look at various farm animals during your visit.
ROKYTNICKÝ MED (Rokytník’s honey)
The Rokytník farm offers you high-quality bee honey from clean natural meadows and forests. At the farm you can choose from five kinds of honey, mead, honey beer, honey candies, honey tea, honey coffee, bee product cosmetics and bee wax candles.
BEE PRODUCTS
Traditional and special honey and bee products are manufactured in Chvalkovice. The bee store offers mead, candles, cosmetics and other products.
SHEEP´S CHEESES, YOGHURTS, YOUGHURT´S MILKS, CURD AND COTTAGE CHEESES, CHEESE DESERTS
From the hills above Šonov nearby Broumov the sheep dairy products come. The married couple Monika and Vladimír Menšík have over 400 sheep on their farm. They make sheep´s milk cheeses. Curd and cottage cheeses, flavored cheeses and yoghurts. In 2005 their cheese was awarded as a Cheese of the Year in a sheep cheese category. All the products are of organic quality.
APPLES FROM PODCHLUMÍ
In the Podrkonoší Lowlands region there are ideal conditions for fruit growing. The climate is suitable for cherries, plums, pears, and apples in particular. For instance “Holovouské malináče”, which have always grown there, are very famous.
DOBROVODSKÉ KYSANÉ ZELÍ (sauerkraut)
Cabbage growing and sauerkraut production has had a long tradition in Dobrá Voda u Hořic. The cabbage is grown under the integrated production regime, which means with a very limited use of fertilizers and pesticides, guaranteeing a high-quality of the grown vegetables. The cabbage is processed in the local factory into sauerkraut, which is produced according to a classic old Bohemian recipe, with only salt and caraway added to the freshly shredded cabbage.
HOŘICKÉ TRUBIČKY (rolls)
The recipe for the Hořické trubičky rolls has been known since 1812, when a wounded general and cook of Emperor Napoleon was said to reveal the recipe to Mrs. Líčková as a reward for treating him during the military retreat after the defeat in Russia. The Hořické trubičky rolls are currently available in a multitude of variants from many producers, who have decided to base their production on the traditional recipe. The European Union has awarded the Hořické trubičky rolls with the protective designation of origin. This means that the rolls can only be produced in Hořice and neighbouring communities within a 10 km perimetre from Hořice.

CHUTNÝ PRECLÍK (A Tasty Pretzel)
The production of pretzels in the picturesque town of Lázně Bělohrad is a big specialty and a pride of the bakery industry. The local pretzels are often praised as an “unforgettable delicacy”. The pretzels are adorned with poppy seed and salt, and derive their specific aroma from ingredients such as pork lard. The exception is the Wholegrain pretzels, which contain a mixture of seeds with vegetable oil.
KRKONOŠSKÁ MEDOVINA (mead)
The Krkonoše Mead is a 18-percent natural alcoholic drink produced in a traditional way, i.e. by fermentation of the water solution of honey, with added herbal extracts. The process takes at least a year and does not include adding any chemical preservatives. You can taste, for instance, sour cherry, almond or classic mead, either cool or warm.
RAW FRESH MILK
It is milk that has not undergone any heat treatment. It contains natural elements that strengthen the immune defense system and revive the intestinal microflora.
MILETÍNSKÝ JAHODOVÝ PERNÍK (Miletín Strawberry Gingerbread)
In addition to “Modlitbičky”, the Erben’s confectionery shop also bakes gingerbread. The best known is the delicious Miletín strawberry gingerbread.
HOMEMADE APPLE CIDER
The homemade apple cider – a pure natural 100% apple juice with no added sugar, obtained from the apples grown on the southern slope of the ridge of the hill in Podkrkonoší Lowlands region. The apple cider has a positive effect on the nervous system and is against fatigue. It is a traditional elixir of youth.
KRAKONOŠ BEER – “the beer from the Krkonoše Mountains”
The Krakonoš brewery currently produces 5 kinds of beer. A special pale lager Krakonoš 14% is brewed at Christmas and Easter. The beer is produced using a classic technology, is not pasteurized and is microbiologically filtered. The brewery uses water from its own 60-metre-deep well for the production of the beer.
ROASTED COFFEE VOLKAFE
The various kinds of roasted coffee selected by country of origin and offered packed into bags of different weight; or for direct consumption in the coffee shop KAFÍRNA such as espresso, latte, cappuccino, etc.; take away coffee is also offered.
The green coffee is processed directly in the café. The coffee is roasted and grounded there, so it is always fresh. The processing is influenced by the knowledge and experience of a barista and by their expertise of coffee making. The bags, cups and stirrers are organic.
KRKONOŠSKÝ MEDVĚD BEER
A mini-brewery in the northern edge of Vrchlabí produces the Krkonošský medvěd beer in pale draft beer, dark lager and cherry flavour varieties. You can enjoy the beer in a local restaurant, which is divided into three halls. In the Knights’ Hall, there are open fermentation vats, and lager and bottling tanks. After a pleasant pause at the table, you can take a tour of the mini-brewery and visit the local shop.
TAMBOR BEER BREWED IN DVŮR KRÁLOVÉ
The famous brewing tradition in Dvůr Králové nad Labem was resumed exactly after 30-year’s pause. Beer is now brewed in a new brewery called “TAMBOR”. The brewery’s greatest wish is to take up the traditional brewing method. High-quality water, Moravian malt and Žatec hops, together with a sufficient maturing period to create the characteristic full and mildly bitter taste. In 2010 the Prague Jewish community granted the KOSHER CERTIFICATE to the Dvůr Králové beer.
ORGANIC VEGETABLES
These vegetables are grown using traditional ways of mechanical cultivation without any chemical substances or artificial fertilizers. Organic vegetables contain more vitamins, mineral substances and other nutrients. They contain less water and more dry mass and natural aromas, so that they have a better and more distinct taste.
BOLEHOŠŤSKÉ KYSANÉ ZELÍ (Bolehošť sauerkraut)
The organic origin of Bolehošť sauerkraut is based on the specific soil on which the vegetable is grown. The century-old tradition of the manufacture is enhanced by state-of-the-art technology to guarantee high quality of production. The sauerkraut retains its full nutritional value and has a high content of the original cabbage juice. It is produced without any chemical additives.
FROLÍKOVA KÁVA (Frolík’s Coffee)
The unique character of Frolík’s Coffee stems from a special method of roasting combined with the use of premium quality coffee beans. At home or on your trip to Hradec Králové, you can enjoy six types of coffee, each with a specific aroma and taste. A unique Christmas coffee is always available just before Christmas. It is specially prepared to enhance the Christmas spirit and has a different, unrepeatable taste every year.
CHLENSKÁ TLAČENKA / CHLENSKÁ UZENINA (Chleny meat pudding / Chleny smoked meats)
The Chleny meat pudding is a cooked meat product with a high content of lean mean and low fat content. It contains the indispensable meat-jelly, seasoning and salt. The Chleny smoked meats are processed smoked meat products produced from fresh ingredients, selected meat and without the use of any substitutes. The Chleny smoked meats include products such as the ham deli sausage, Janovice frankfurters, Chleny sausage, old Bohemian chimney sausage, paprika sausage or Kladno roast.
LIČENSKÝ CHLÉB (Lično bread)
Only spring water from a private well, flour (wheat and rye), salt and caraway are used for baking the Lično bread. The bread is made of a 100% fermented rye flour, without the use of any enhancing substances or preservatives. The bread has an elongated shape, supple crumb with caraway and chestnut-brown crust.
FEAST CAKES
The feast cakes are formed by hand, have golden colour and a very fine and tasty crumb. They are filled with poppy seed, curd cheese or plum jam, and are dusted with sugar that does not absorb humidity. The same recipe is used for the production of wedding cakes, which differ from feast cakes by their “wedding” size. A number of awards testify to the popularity of Lično products.
NATURAL FRUIT SPIRITS
100% natural fruit spirits (with no added aromas) are produced using modern equipment with a rectifying column. The finished spirit is subsequently aged in an ultrasound ageing machine, matures in stainless tanks and is diluted to 50% alc. It is bottled and labelled. The distillery offers tours for visitors with tasting.
RYCHNOV BEERS: ZILVAR, KAŠTAN AND KNĚŽNA
Rychnov beers are unfiltered, prepared from pure natural raw materials (malt from Dobruška, Žatec hops, water from a deep well near Slemeno) without any added preservatives, stabilizers or substitutes. Fine bite and full-bodied taste is achieved by cold fermentation and slow maturing in lager tanks. The presence of brewer’s yeast gives the beer its unmistakeable character both in aroma and colour. A “Pivní šenk” (Beer Taproom) is open in the close vicinity of the brewery, with beer available on tap directly from the brewery’s tanks. The brewery offers tours, including tasting.
RYCHNOVSKÝ ŠTRÚDL
Rychnovský štrúdl is a cold refreshing drink from the Rychnov brewery. It is made of Rychnov cider and apple brandy.
RYCHNOVSKÉ TUPLOVANÉ JABLKO
Rychnovské tuplované apple is another drink from the Rychnov brewery. It is made of Rychnov cider and apple brandy. The whole drink is decorated with cinnamon on top, which enhances its taste; and with a slice of lemon. Unlike Rychnov apple pie it is served warm.
ROKYTNICKÉ PEČIVO (Rokytnice pastry)
The famous Rokytnice pastry tastes the same way it did in the times of our grandmothers. The secret of the excellent taste consists not only in the original formulas but also in the technical construction of the furnace and the hand-made character of all products. The brick steam furnace provides the unmistakeable smell and delicate character to the products. Products are placed into the furnace using a wooden baker’s shovel. And last but not least, there are the skills of bakers who make the pastry with tender and loving care.
FISH FROM THE ORLICKÉ MOUNTAINS FOOTHILLS
A tasty carp, pike, zander, tench, grass carp or catfish are grown in ponds managed by the Kolowrat family. A part of the production is processed in Opočno, where you can buy a comprehensive assortment of live and processed fish (smoked and chilled) fish. Some products bear the “ORLICKÉ MOUNTAINS - original product®” logo.
SYNKOV APPLES
More than 20 basic apple cultivars are grown in Synkov. Moreover, some of them are further grafted and have various mutations of variety clones with specific names. An example is the basic cultivar Gala with clones Gala Royal, Gala Must and Gala Mitchgla, which differ in colour from the base cultivar. The summer cultivars in the orchards include Ametys, Julie, Nela and Discovery.
