Častolovice Chateau – tours for the blind and visually impaired

Častolovice Chateau is one of the most beautiful renaissance chateaus in the Czech Republic. It is privately owned by Countess Sternbergová, so you will see what it is like for a noble family to rule a chateau. What can you expect in the chateau’s chambers? A permanent exhibition of the chateau includes twenty rooms with historical furniture from the time of the Renaissance until the Biedermeier period. Specific beauty of the chateau is created by the textiles, numerous personal belongings, photographs and flowers. What could you do after you have looked around the breathtaking chateau exhibition? You can relax in the beautiful courtyard with a fountain and exotic plants and animals. You can listen to the sound of pleasant chamber music. You can visit the café and have a delicious coffee and cake. If you are hungry there is a chateau restaurant. Children will love the playground or animal farm where they will see various different species of exotic animals which they can feed.

A welcome addition to the chateau is the tour for the blind and visually impaired. The tour takes one hour. The tours for the blind must be booked in advance on the tel. 494 323 646. The blind can come into contact with art and history through haptic perception. The chateau is partially accessible for the physically disabled – the park, restaurant and sanitary facilities are wheelchair access and the chateau is equipped with a stair climber and partially with an elevator. In the future the chateau will provide full wheelchair access.
