Natural attractions in the Kladsko Borderland
The tourist area with picturesque river valleys, rocks, ravines and labyrinths of rocky towns is named after its location at the border with presently Polish Kłodzko.
Technically this area is called the Sudeten in-between-land, which expresses the position between mountain ranges of "Sudeten Mountains" – the Orlické Mountains and the Krkonoše Mountains. The value of natural beauty is evidenced by the fact that a large part of Kladsko Borderland is formed by the protected area Broumovsko. On the Polish side there continues Gory Stołowe (Table Mountains) National Park, Polish tourists indeed call Broumovsko "the most beautiful parts of the Table Mountains." Sandstone rock towns are definitely the biggest attraction - Adršpašsko-teplické Rocks, Ostaš, Broumov Walls. For a better understanding there is a dense network of well marked hiking and cycling trails. In winter ski tracks are available.
Adršpašské skalní město (Rock town Adršpach)
The most extensive rock town in Central Europe. The unique sandstone formation (Milenci - Lovers – the highest sand tower in Europe) and rock massives full of fantastic shapes are well frequented. There are two tourist trails leading through the rock town.
Babiččino údolí (Grandmother’s Valley)
The national cultural landmark and national natural monument is located on the Úpa River. Harmonic and romantic countryside with a fair proportion of rich natural features and human objects is named after “Babička” by the writer Božena Němcová.

Javoří hory (Javoří Mountains)
On the Czech – Polish border the Broumov Basin is enclosed by the summit of the Javoří Mountains, with the highest peak Ruprechtický Špičák (880 m. a. s. l.). In the recreational settlement Janovičky there is a tourist and ski area.
Jestřebí hory (Jestřebí Mountains)
Broumovsko is surrounded on the west by the Jestřebí Mountains with the highest peak being Žaltman (739 m. a. s. l.). It is an ideal terrain for cycle trips and cross-country skiing. Along the whole length of the ridge there is a range of infantry cabins from the prewar heavy Czechoslovak fortifications.
Ostaš
This plateau mountain (700 m. a. s. l.), which is the dominant feature of Policko Region, is connected with a range of myths and legends, from which the rock formations – Zbrojnoš (Armiger), Zrádce (Traitor), Mohyla smrti (Death Barrow) etc. got their names. There are two rock labyrinths which are accessible all year round– Horní and Dolní and the so-called Kočičí hrádek (Cat Castle).
Rozkoš
The Rozkoš reservoir extends in close vicinity of Česká Skalice. It is often called the Eastern Bohemian Sea. The large dammed lake offers numerous opportunities for water sports, swimming, camping, and recreation centers.
Teplické skály (Teplice Rocks)
The less frequented southern part of the Teplice-Adršpach rock town. A 6 km footpath with several observation points links Vlčí rokle (Wolf gorge) with the northern - Adršpach part of the rock town. Plentiful mountaineering terrain.
Údolí Peklo (Hell Valley)
