Cross-country skiing in Kladsko Borderland

From Petříkovice to Náchod

Starting point: Petříkovice, railway station

Route: Petříkovice - Paseky - Žaltman - Odolov - Krkavčina - Kramolna - Náchod /34km/

Points of interest: Žaltman - observation tower /739m/, Odolov - on the way WWII blockhouses and bunkers, Náchod - military cemetary from the 1866 war, chateau

Difficulty: This traditional route along the peaks of the Jestřebí Mountains is sure not to disappoint even the most demanding cross-country skiers.

Broumovské stěny - Z Březové do Machovské Lhoty

Starting point: Březová, railway station

Route: Březová - Pod Pasy - Amerika - Machovský kříž - U zabitého - Machovská Lhota /22 km/

Points of interest: Chapel of St. Hubert, crossroads, Machovský kříž (Machovský cross) - 667 m.a.s. l.

Difficulty: A less demanding trail through the Broumov promontory leading partially through forest roads. But be sure to expect some hills even there.

Javoří hory – Z Meziměstí do Broumova

Starting point: Meziměstí, railway station

Route: Meziměstí - Pomeznice - Ruprechtický Špičák - Široký - Čertův vrch - Jedlový vrch - Janovičky - Rožmitál - Broumov /29 km/

Points of interest: Ruprechtický Špičák - observation tower /880 m/, views from Javoří Moutnains

Difficulty: The route is very challenging. The Javoří Mountains offer both a pleasant as well as challenging ride through the surrounding hills.

Jestřebí hory – Z Adršpachu do Malých Svatoňovic

Starting point: Adršpach, railway station

Route: Adršpach - Janovice - Žaltman - Bílý kůl - Malé Svatoňovice /15 km/

Points of interest: Adršpach rock town, Žaltman observation tower, Malé Svatoňovice - museum of the Čapek brothers

Difficulty: A more demanding route across the peaks of the Jestřebí Mountains with the option of visiting the Žaltman lookout tower in winter. Be careful in winter as the lookout tower is usually icy in winter.
